Committee
Chair Report
January 15, 2005
Greetings on this cold, icy day!
I will
take advantage of this forced day of vacation to get this letter
ready to mail. First I want to thank all the troop adults who have
kept things going while I was knee deep in working on productions.
The old adage of when it rains it pours applies to theatrical
openings.
Due to the weather today, we found it prudent to postpone
Travis' Eagle Project work day. Travis will be speaking with the
principal about rescheduling, possibly for this Saturday, January
22nd. He will inform the troop about the new date.
Monday, January 24th is our next Troop Committee meeting.
The meeting will be at the Lohkamp's starting at 7 PM. I have
asked Bob Yingling, and accountant with ties to the council to
talk with us about our tax exempt status and other related issues.
February will be a busy month. The Scoutmaster
Breakfast/Fundraiser is February 5th. Clark needs a lot of
help and donations from our Troop families. We are also trying to
schedule a service project for the church on this day. The next
day, February 6th is Scout Sunday. Our Charter
Organization, The Lynchwood Church of God, has a special service
for our Scout families to worship together along with the Pack and
their congregation. February 26th is our Red and Green dinner
and Court of Honor, where we formally present rank and other
advancement. I have high hopes of seeing several new First Class
Scouts honored, and of welcoming crossover Scouts to our troop.
Earlier that day is council training, Advancement Extravaganza. I
would encourage any of you that want to be on the advancement team
to tae advantage of this event.
Please be aware that this is the time of year that certain fees
become payable, such as the second part of the annual dues and the
camp deposit for this summer's week at Camp Baldwin. The
Friends of Scouting (FOS) campaign will begin. Although a
voluntary contribution, I hope that many of our families will be
able to pledge some amount to support the Scouting program.
See you at Committee Meeting,
Margaret
