Committee
Chair Report
September 18, 2005
Greetings!
Our children are back in school and hopefully off to a good
start! I know my son had quite the time adjusting to the early
start time at CHS. The Scouting year has begun at full speed. It
was wonderful to see so many of the scouts and parents at COH. Our
youth really out did themselves this summer with earning merit
badges.
Leadership elections are September 27th. JLT is scheduled for
the morning of October 8th. It is required of all scouts taking on
a leadership position that they attend JLT. Please discuss this
with your scout and help him to decide whether he can take on a
position for the next 6 months.
We have two pack visits scheduled in October and one in
November. As Clark and I need to be available to talk with the
parents, and other adults are occupied with classes, I would
appreciate if I could get a volunteer or two to oversee the
preparations for the campfire we will have at the end of the
meeting.
It is time to re-charter the adult and youth members of our
troop. As a part of the BSA Ready and Prepared Award program and
because our scouts deserve trained adults, I am strongly
requesting that all registered adults have current (within two
years) Youth Protection Training. This can be accomplished online.
The Troop's website has a link to this valuable training.
Committee Meeting is Monday, September 26th, at
the Lohkamp's. The meeting begins at 7PM. All adults are
invited and welcome to attend. See you there -
