Figure Of Eight On A Bight Knot

Uses: The figure eight on a bight is used to make a loop in the middle of a rope. It is used mostly by rock climbers. Useful for belay set ups, rescue work, to backup ascending a rope, and many other applications.





Instructions: 1) Take a bight of rope. 2) Form an overhand loop. 3) Form an underhand loop around the standing part. 4) Complete the knot by reeving the running end through the eye of the first overhand loop. 5) Pull the knot tight.

Notes: This knot is very strong and secure and can be used in rescue work.
