Rolling Hitch
(Also Known As: Magner's Hitch, Magnus Hitch)

Uses: Possibly on of the most underrated knots in Scouting, the Rolling Hitch is used to attach one rope to a second rope or to a round timber or bar and can be easily slid along the rope/timber/bar.

Instructions: 1) Begin with a round turn in the direction of the strain. 2) Then take a second round turn in the same direction. 3) Cross the line in front and away from the direction of strain. 4) Pass the running end under the crossed line just formed. 5) Tighten the hitch.

Notes: The knot can be considered a clove hitch with an additional turn.
