Scout Meeting Duties

At each scout meeting a certain patrol is in charge of something, whether it be flag, set-up or clean up. If your scout is apart of this, please be sure to either get him there on time or allow him enough time after the meeting to fulfill his duties.

Venture Crew Meeting

There will be a Venture Crew Meeting on February 13th at the Vermillion's house starting at 7:00PM. Please have your crewmember there. If you cannot make it, please call Mr. Dyer or Mr. Vermillion and let them know! Bring a friend or 2 if you have any interested. Remember, this is for young men and women age 14 to 20.
 

High Adventure Meeting

There will be a High Adventure Meeting after scouts on January 17th. We will discuss airfare and side trips while in Florida! Please have an adult present at this meeting.

Aubrey Watzek Outing

We are leaving early on this outing so if you have a problem with this, please notify Daniel DesJardins a.s.a.p. PLEASE make sure your scout has a sack dinner at the time of arrival to the church. There will be no stopping for food on the way up to the mountain! We will be meeting at 4:30PM and leaving by 5:00PM. If you are driving, please be sure your cars are winter travel equipped!

Committee Meeting

Taggart. They live south of Division off 162nd. All are welcome!

Red and Green

Our annual Red and Green is February 25th at the Metro Church of God. We have a committee in place and more information will be coming out soon. Watch your mailboxes and newsletters!

New Calendar

We have printed and put in your scout's mailbox a new calendar for the rest of the year. Some of the dates for outings and events might have changed so please refer to it and recycle the old one. As always, please check the calendar portion of each newsletter to see if there are any changes for the month!

Recipe of the Month

Very Moist Biscuits

Makes 18

4 c. flour

12 T. butter

6 t. baking powder

1 c. milk

1/2 t. salt

1 c. whipping cream

In large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Use a pastry cutter or hands to cut in butter until mixture resembles a course meal. Using a fork, mix in milk and whipping cream until flour mixture is well moistened. Turn onto lightly floured area and knead dough 15 times. Shape into large ball. Roll dough out to half-inch thickness. Cut out biscuits using a three-inch diameter cutter. Gather up leftover dough, shape into ball, roll and cut out remaining biscuits.

Place biscuits into a 14-inch Dutch oven. Bake with 11 briquettes on the bottom and 17 on the top for 10-12 minutes. Remove lid and remove biscuits. This can also be done in a 400-degree oven.
