Junior Leader Training

This Friday from 6:00-?pm, your scout will take part in JLT. If you have a son that is in a leadership position, he needs to be there! All scouts were made aware of this prior to taking a position! Dinner will be served. PLEASE be on time! Contact Mr. Vermillion if you have any questions!

 

Plant Orders Due

On April 11th we will wrap up our Spring Fundraiser. Please be sure to bring all orders and money to scouts that night. Call Jerri Walker if you have any questions. If you still have candy and pepperoni money out there to be turned in, please do so now!

 

Pre-Camporee April 21-23rd

We will be having our Pre-Camporee at Oxbow Park this year. We are having a mini-competition between us and two or three

other troops. We need all the extra parent help we can get! If you can come out for the day on Saturday, that would be great. Please contact Mr. Vermillion if you can help!

 

Committee Meeting

This months Committee Meeting will be held at the Fifes. Their address is: 16711 SE Tibbets. We begin at 7:00pm and try to be done by 8:30pm. All are welcome.

 

Recipe of the Month!

Porcupine Beef

1 lb. ground beef

1/2 cup uncooked instant rice

2 eggs, beaten

1-1 1/2 ounce envelope dry onion or veggie soup mix

1/4 cup finely chopped sweet green or jalapeno pepper

1-14 1/2 ounce can stewed tomatoes

1 1/2 c. beef broth

2 tsp. chili powder

 

Mix together ground beef, rice, eggs, dry soup mix and chopped pepper. Shape into 6 large balls.

 

Combine tomatoes, broth and chili powder in a large skillet or 3-quart baker. Heat to boiling over medium heat or in a 350 degree oven.

 

Carefully drop meatballs into hot tomato mixture; cover and simmer or bake for 45-55 minutes. Lift out meatballs and if you desire, thicken sauce with 3 tbsp. flour with cold water. Serve in deep bowls with cornbread or crusty bread. Serves 6.
