Welcome Back!

We hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer and that you are all ready for Scouting Year 2006-2007! For some of you it is just the beginning of your Boy Scout Adventure and for some it is the end! Whom ever you are, make it the best you can!

Activities Calendar

Our yearly calendar has been put in the mail boxes. There are extra copies in a folder in the mail box if you need one. Again, the boys have planned a full year of various activities each month. Please be careful to look at the calendar weekly, and always check the calendar on this newsletter monthly. Some events might change due to scheduling problems or weather.

Boards of Review

Remember that if you need a Board of Review for advancement, it is up to the boy to schedule their boards with Mr. Woodell. Boards are conducted once a month on the first Tuesday of the month unless it is a Court of Honor month, then we tend to do more to get those close in by Court of Honor.

Fundraising News

Once again we are selling Boy Scout Popcorn as a fundraiser this month. Each box sold helps not only the boy earn money for his camp account, but a portion of the profits goes to Council, where it goes into a fund to help boys in need. Please do what you can to sell at least 3 items this year! If you have any questions about this fundraiser, please call Margaret Chapman.

Apple/Pear Sales: We are also starting to sell Apples and Pears on September 26. This fundraiser will earn you over 50% profit and is a fun one to do. We pre-sell apples and pears and then go up to Hood River and pack them in boxes. They are fresh and wonderful tasting and it has always been a beautiful day when we have gone up. A perfect way to earn money and watch fall at its highest. Take a picnic lunch and stop on the way home to enjoy the beauty. If you have any questions about this fundraiser, please call Phyllis Woodell.

Wreaths: We will begin wreath sales in late October so watch the front table for information concerning that.

A gentle reminder that most of our fundraisers are between the months of September and December. If you need to build up your camp account this is the time to do it. We will be selling bedding plants in the spring and there may be one other fundraiser too.

Committee Meeting

This months Committee Meeting will be September 25, held at the Cashes House. Please call them for directions. ALL are welcome to the meetings.

High Adventure 2008

We are in the beginning planning stages for our next High Adventure. If you have any suggestions, please let Mr. Villa know. Check your mail boxes for future meeting and information notices.
