Pre-Camporee 2005

This year Troop 542's Pre-Camporee was held at Scouter's Mountain. Pre-Camporee is held to ready the Scouts for the activities, games, and competitions that will be held next month at Camporee. Only two words can adequately describe this campout...RAIN and MUD! Troop 542 got a taste of what Lewis & Clark must have went through the winter of 1805 when it rained nearly every day of their stay in Oregon.

Many of the activities we had planned for Saturday were delayed due to rain,  but we eventually were able to complete all that we had planned.

Fort Courage, home of Troop 542 for two days, and courage we will need to outlast the rain.

Scoutmaster Vermillion instructing the Trail to First Class scouts in the fine art of making fire.

Saturday morning flag ceremony.

Scouts and audience...
attention...
remove all non-scouting hats...
solute the flag...

Raise the flag.

Breakfast in the rain...what fun!

Dillon, be careful...the mud is slick!

Staying dry, any way we can.

Is that fire helping you stay dry?
