Camporee 2005

The Cascade Pacific Council - Thunderbird District - Camporee 2005 was held near Stabler Washington, about 9 miles north of Carson on Wind River highway. Troop 542 spends 8 months preparing for this weekend where we have the opportunity to show our stuff by competing in various activities displaying organization, teamwork, skill, and troop spirit. Although it rained Friday night after we went to bed, Saturday was beautiful with morning clouds and a beautiful sunny afternoon. The activities were great, the food plentiful, and troop spirit high.

Unloading by patrol, the judging of organization and troop spirit has started!
Over 475 scouts (from 22 troops and 3 crews) made camp in this beautiful valley near Stabler Washington.

Each activity will be judged by participation, skill, and patrol spirit. The patrols compete against other patrols in the same skill level determined by an average member rank (beginner, intermediate, and advanced).

Raise the flags and let the competition begin.

TOP PATROL
Put out the Fire - the patrol has 10 minutes to squirt as much water into the bucket as possible. At the end of the time limit the water in the bucked is measured and recorded. The Batman received 4th place in this event!

Lift that Bale - the object is to build a tripod that will support the weight of the bucket of water. This event is timed so the fastest time wins.
Walk the Walk - the patrol leader leads his blindfolded team across a narrow zigzaging path. This event is timed and the fastest time wins.

What's for dinner - build a fire and boil a measured amount of water. The fastest time wins and the Batman came in 1st in their division.

They really do live up to the Troop 542 motto - "Eats well and plays with fire."
Rescue 911 - properly evaluate and treat the injured person.

Ready-Aim-Shoot - shoot the bean bag into a five gallon bucket to score 5 points. The highest point average for the patrol division wins.
The Small But Very Dangerous South American Tree Frog Patrol (classified as an intermediate patrol).

Patrol Leader Bryan.

Members: Alex, Andy, David, Sam, and Steven.

Participation

Ready-Aim-Shoot - every participant shoots five beanbags towards the bucket. The highest scoring shot of each patrol member is added together and divided by the number of members to achieve a patrol score. 1st place goes to the highest scoring patrol.
Obstacle Course - climb, jump, craw and run your way through the course.

Andy makes his way through the barrel crawl.
