This year Troop 542 is sending two participants, CJ
and Bryan. |
Bryan...just before the journey began. |
CJ...looking confident before his ride. |

Part of the scenery early on in the
trek. |
Blondie, the largest horse in the herd. |
Time to setup camp and have dinner. |
Here we are taking a break one afternoon in a field
of scotch broom. |
Can't rest too long, we have a long way
to go... |
We are near our camp mid way through the ride. This
is where our families will come and meet us for dinner. We
can't wait to seem them. |
This is the typical way we sleep, just a
sleeping bag under the stars. |
Here is our chuck wagon... |
...and some of the food our families
brought up for dinner. |
No meal is complete until all the dishes are washed
up. |
Here is CJ showing off his most recent
injury. The story has it that he was talking with one of the
horses when the horse bent over and bit him. As he displays
the injury, it is in a rather sensitive location.
Editors Note: I'm sure that hurt a LOT!
I can't imagine... |

Bryan with his horse Banjo. |
Time for some cowboy stories... |
...and a nice campfire. Good bye families,
we will see you on Sunday. |

Watering the horses by a lake. |
